A Day of Preparedness and Community at Porter Valley Park

Penny Lane families recently enjoyed a meaningful and engaging day at the Disaster Fair held at Porter Valley Park. It was wonderful to see so many families come out to take part in this important community event. Hosted in partnership with Councilman John Lee, the fair provided lunch and essential disaster preparedness supplies, helping ensure families had access to valuable resources in a welcoming and supportive setting.

Throughout the day, families participated in a variety of interactive activities designed to teach emergency readiness in fun and accessible ways. From learning about safety plans to exploring preparedness tools, everyone had the opportunity to gain practical knowledge while spending quality time together. The event created a positive space for learning, connection, and empowerment for both parents and children.

Events like this remind us that it’s never too late to be prepared. By bringing families together and offering hands-on experiences, the Disaster Fair strengthened our community and reinforced the importance of readiness and resilience. We are grateful to Councilman John Lee and all the organizers who made this day such a success, and we look forward to continuing to support opportunities that help our families feel safe, informed, and confident.
