Penny Lane Center’s LGBTQ+ Programs are designed to help LGBTQ+ youth and their families find the support they need, while helping to create safe and welcoming spaces.

Penny Lane’s Embracing Identities program is designed to help meet the needs of LGBTQ+ Transitional Age Youth (TAY) – ages 16-25 years old through support groups, case management, and trainings.
Our support groups provide a safe and supportive environment where young people can connect with others who share similar experiences. In addition to youth support groups, the program also offers family support, which helps family members better understand and support their LGBTQ+ loved ones.
Embracing Identities case management provides referrals and linkages to other community resources, including mental health, housing support, and gender-affirming care.
We also recognize the importance of community education and empowerment. The program offers workshops and LGBTQ+ Toolkit Trainings to promote understanding and acceptance for all.
Embracing Identities covers Service Areas 1, 2, 3, &7 – including the Antelope Valley, the San Fernando Valley, the San Gabriel Valley, and the East LA area.
Penny Lane’s Tailored Services to Youth (TSY) Program was created with the unique needs of LGBTQ+ youth and young adults in mind, and is open to all youth ages 5-21 with an open DCFS case. The program offers mentorship, case management and linkage services, and mental health support for both youth and their families.
By connecting youth to affirming services and supports, the TSY Program helps improve outcomes for youth in care. These services are designed to build protective factors, strengthen community ties, and promote long-term stability and well-being.Penny Lane’s TSY Program serves DCFS clients in Service Areas 1, 2, 7, and 8 – including the Antelope Valley, San Fernando Valley, East Los Angeles, and Long Beach..
Penny Lane Center’s Rainbow Resource Network Qloset (“The Qloset”) is a universal access, gender-affirming resource Qloset. It is a part of a network of Qlosets located around LA County. The Qloset provides a variety of items and services that help youth to authentically express themselves. This includes clothing, shapewear, accessories, makeup, and services. If you are looking for specific items, please let us know when you schedule your visit.
Eligibility – Youth 25 and younger are eligible to participate inThe Qloset. Priority is given to current/former foster youth and othersystem-impacted youth, BIPOC TGI+ Youth, and TAY (16-25), but all youth areeligible to participate.
How do I visit Please complete the form at: https://forms.office.com/r/ZuXKjjDWNX to schedule a visit. Penny Lane’s Qloset is currently located in Lancaster but will expand to other service areas as of July 2026.
What happens during a visit – During the visit, you will have the opportunity to try on a variety of gender-affirming items. Once you determine your fit and color preferences, you will place your orderwith us. Once the items ordered arrive, you will once again visit TheQloset to pick up your order. The initial visit lasts as long as you needit to. We recommend planning for around 30-60 minutes.
What is the fee – All items and services are provided free of charge, through a collaboration between the Rainbow Resource Network and DCFS. There is no limit to how often a youth can participate in The Qloset. There is no limit on how many items a youth can choose. However, we wantto ensure there is enough for everyone.
Additionally, we follow Marsha P.Johnson’s philosophy of “leave something, take something”. We hope that youth will “leave something” by way of word of affirmation, poetry, a sketch, etc. in our Qloset journal when they visit.

Consider donating directly to our LGBTQ+ Programs and help an LGBTQ+ youth in need. Every dollar counts.
