Penny Lane's Qloset- Gender Affirming Clothes

Penny Lane Center is excited to introduce the Rainbow Resource Network Qloset (“The Qloset”), our newest gender-affirming resource program designed to support youth in authentically expressing who they are. As part of a growing network of Qlosets throughout Los Angeles County, this space provides access to items such as clothing, shapewear, accessories, and makeup, along with supportive services that help young people explore their identity with confidence and dignity. The Qloset is a universal-access resource, available to all youth ages 25 and under, with priority given to current or former foster youth, system-impacted youth, BIPOC TGI+ youth, and TAY ages 16–25.

Join Us! During a Qloset visit, youth can try on a variety of gender-affirming items in a welcoming, private environment. Once they find pieces that match their style, fit, and comfort, staff assists with placing an order tailored to their needs. All items and services are provided at no cost through a collaboration between the Rainbow Resource Network and DCFS. To honor Marsha P. Johnson’s spirit of community care, the Qloset also invites youth to “leave something, take something” by contributing a message or piece of creativity to the Qloset journal during their visit.

We invite staff, partners, and community members to join us in celebrating this exciting milestone at the Qloset Open House on April 15th. This special event offers an opportunity to tour the space, connect with the team behind the program, and learn more about how the Qloset is already making an impact in the lives of youth across our community. Whether you’re looking to refer a young person, collaborate on services, or simply show your support, your presence helps strengthen the network of care surrounding our youth.

As we look ahead, the Qloset is more than just a resource—it’s a movement rooted in belonging, self-expression, and empowerment. With plans to expand into additional service areas this July, we are continuing to build spaces where every young person feels seen, affirmed, and celebrated. Together, we can ensure that youth not only have access to what they need, but also the freedom to show up as their full, authentic selves.
