Abbey Road Projects- August 2025 Update

August 7, 2025

The Rigby and The Main

Abbey Road has had an exciting July!

On the 17th Walton Construction, our General Contractor, poured the slab for The Rigby’s subterranean garage.  This continuous pour involved the coordination of 47 cement trucks which each offloaded 10 cubic yards of cement from both the Columbus Street side as well as from the Rayen Street side!!  The attached pictures show the site as last preparations were being made before we began pumping concrete,  the next picture is the pumping in of the concrete, that is followed by our RD Construction team smoothing out the concrete as it is being poured, then the last of the touchups and finally supporting the walls while Walton works to backfill the site around the garage.

New Projects: The Starr & More!

The Starr also had an exciting few days with the Pasadena Economic Development City Council Committee and then the full City Council approving a $2 million regional housing trust fund loan.  Our final step is the approval by the Burbank Glendale Pasadena Region Housing Trust (BGPRHT) Board which is scheduled for August 11th. With this financing and the funds, we are receiving from Supervisor Kathryn Barger, we are well on our way to getting the financing required to build the building.  These funds will also allow us to apply for the CA Dept of Housing & Community Development’s Multifamily SuperNOFA Los Angeles Disaster financing.  This 57-unit building will house Homeless Youth and is just two blocks north of Pasadena City College.

We also entered escrow for a site in Norwalk!!  The City of Norwalk is very excited to welcome Abbey Road and Penny Lane to their City, and they are looking forward to seeing a large affordable development take shape.  This development, which we expect to be a 90-unit large family building, will allow us to house homeless youth and families in SPA 7 and to rehouse those in need of more affordable rental housing.
