We want to give a BIG thank you to "Wash My Dog Grooming Services" for showing our Sun Commons community so much love! They came out and pampered 12 of our furry residents—yes, 12! and let me tell you, these pups were beyond excited! Terryl and his assistant were amazing with both our playful puppies and our sweet senior dogs. The care and patience he showed made this a special experience for our furry friends (and their humans, too).
We’re even more excited to announce that Wash My Dog Grooming Services will now be offering monthly grooming to our PSH clients! To make sure everyone gets a turn, Sun Commons will rotate pets each month, so all our fur babies can enjoy these awesome services.

On Thursday, July 24th, Metamorphosis’ Grooming/Spa Day was back—and it was a tail-wagging success! Our beloved fur babies were treated to a day of pampering filled with hot showers, body rubs, flea dips, conditioner treatments, and adorable bandana neckties. It was more than just a spa day—it was a chance for our participants to connect with Loving Paws, share their pets’ needs, and feel heard and supported.
To make the day even more special, the Metamorphosis team turned the spa into a full-blown event complete with music (yes, “Who Let the Dogs Out” made the playlist!), food, and fun. There were hot dogs, cup of noodles, chips, soda, and lots of laughter and gratitude. The atmosphere was joyful, healing, and filled with love—the kind of day that truly reflects the spirit of Penny Lane Centers and the mission of Metamorphosis: transforming lives.
A huge thank you goes out to Loving Paws and Wash My Dog for showing up for our clients and their fur babies. And an extra special shoutout to Maggie Williams from the Metamorphosis team, who went above and beyond by partnering with the Petco store in Torrance to secure generous donations of pet supplies. Thanks to Maggie’s outreach and community collaboration, our furry friends went home with even more goodies and love.
Great job, Maggie—and thank you to everyone who helped make the day unforgettable!

On Wednesday, July 30th, the North Hills Leadership Team brought a scoop of summer joy to staff and clients with The Big Chill—ice cream edition!
In a spirited effort to spread good vibes and cool treats, the leadership team roamed the halls of the NH offices dressed in festive red-and-white aprons, bow ties and hats, accompanied by the nostalgic sounds of an ice cream truck. With a cart overflowing with frozen favorites—from Big Sticks to Strawberry Shortcake bars to the classic ice cream sandwich—plus an assortment of chips and candy, there truly was something for everyone.
We were met with smiles and appreciation from clients as they gathered outside therapy rooms and in the lobby, excited to choose their favorite treat. As the cart moved from floor to floor and building to building, the energy grew. The jingling bells and familiar ice cream truck music added to the festive, feel-good vibe. Our Witherbee clients got in on the fun—many going back for seconds and even thirds—reminding us how meaningful the simplest gestures can be. We also made a stop at the Rigby job site, where construction workers took a well-earned break to cool off with a sweet treat under the summer sun. Passersby were welcomed to join in the fun, and even our mail carrier got to enjoy a surprise cold treat.
The leadership team laughed and served with big smiles, delighted to bring a little nostalgia and a lot of joy to our Penny Lane community. The Big Chill was more than just an ice cream break—it was a celebration of connection, kindness, and the shared joy of summer

On Friday, July 25th, Relative Support Services proudly hosted Penny Lane’s annual Back-to-School event, a heartwarming day dedicated to preparing our children and families for a successful new school year.
This year’s event was a collaborative effort, with support from multiple Penny Lane programs including ECM, the Clinic, Housing, and others. Together, we provided children with essential items such as backpacks, school supplies, shoes, uniforms, clothing, and sneakers, everything they need to start the year off right.
Families were also treated to a delicious taco lunch prepared by our amazing Penny Lane Kitchen staff. The event offered not only resources, but also meaningful moments of connection, as families had the opportunity to interact with their workers and enjoy a festive atmosphere full of smiles and support.
Staff from across programs came together to volunteer and make the day special, showcasing the strength of our Penny Lane community. We are especially grateful for the generous donations from our incredible partners, Baby2Baby and the Good+ Foundation, whose contributions helped make this event possible.
Thank you to everyone who contributed their time, energy, and heart. It was truly a day of unity, service, and joy and a beautiful reminder of what we can accomplish together for the families we serve.

On Saturday, July 19th, Penny Lane Centers’ Prevention and Aftercare program hosted a fun-filled Family Soccer Night with more than 30 children, youth, and families in attendance on behalf of Penny Lane Centers. The group gathered at Lancaster Municipal Stadium to watch a thrilling match between AV Alta FC and FC Naples, which ended in an exciting 1-1 tie. The event provided a chance for families to connect, cheer on the home team, and enjoy a beautiful summer evening together.
The highlight of the night? Penny Lane families and staff were invited onto the field to share a few words about the organization and the important work being done in the community. Commerce extends its deepest appreciation to Penny Lane for hosting the much needed and wonderfully executed Art à la Cart event. It came at the perfect time, offering our staff a meaningful opportunity to step away from their daily routines and indulge in a refreshing afternoon of creativity and connection. The ambiance was light, inspiring, and beautifully relaxed — setting the stage for a truly memorable experience.
From the delicious Porto’s lunch that brought smiles to every table, to the guided painting session that invited each of us to explore our artistic side, every detail was thoughtfully planned and carried out. The event not only nourished our bodies and minds but also reinforced the power of community and the importance of making time for joy. The wellness committee’s energy, care, and vision made it all possible, and for that, we are genuinely thankful. Moments like this help remind us how impactful it can be to pause, reset, and create something beautiful together.
