Are you a current or former foster youth between the ages of 2 and 25 who identities as LGBTQ+? Do you know of one? Penny Lane’s LGBTQ+ Program Services, in collaboration with DCFS, brings the LGBTQ+ Tailored Services to Youth Program to LA County Service Areas 1 and 7.
Penny Lane’s newest program accepts LGBTQ+ youth who are currently or previously in foster care. Do you have any clients who fit that description? If so, please send them our way! We provide LGBTQ+ case management, mentorship, collateral support, and more!
The LGBTQ+ TSY Program seeks to improve outcomes for LGBTQ+ children and youth in care by connecting youth to affirming services and supports. The goal is to help LGBTQ+ children and youth to achieve well-being and safety and address the many negative outcomes that too often occur. These services will develop, strengthen, and enhance protective factors to ensure the safe transition of LGBTQ+ children and youth who are reunified with their families, and help LGBTQ+ children and youth with their families establish community and social networks to promote post- reunification stability.
Please see the flyer and referral form below. Referrals and questions can be submitted to Summer Gomez at SuGomez@pennylane.org
This past month our conference task force made the difficult decision to postpone the EDGY 2022 Conference that was slated to happen on May 18th. With the end of the pandemic making many attendees, sponsors and presenters cautious to attend an in-person conference, we feel it is best if we push the EDGY Conference back, once again, to October 13th, 2022 at the Skirball Center. This was a very difficult decision but we feel it is the right thing to do.
We are so excited to see everyone, host wonderful workshops and offer resources from many national organizations. What is stopping you from purchasing that early bird ticket!? We also don’t want you to forget that our resource fair is open to all organizations, so don’t miss out on your chance to promote the great work you are doing in the community. Check out our website links to learn more about the best conference for professionals working with LGBTQIA+ youth and families!
Again, we apologize for the postponement and hope you can join us in-person on October 13th!
