CAPPS is an evidence-based practice funded through the Mental Health Services Act- Prevention and Early Intervention Transitional Age Youth System of Care. CAPPS specializes in identifying and treating adolescents and young adults who are at high risk for developing major mental illness associated with psychotic symptoms. Youth, 15 ½ to 25,  assessed as prodromal, will be offered a family focused treatment model by one of our certified CAPPS Therapists.

This evidence based model has three main components: psycho-education, communication enhancement, and problem solving to improve communication and client functioning. CAPPS can be conducted in as few as 18 sessions, but can be customized to further address specific youth and family needs. If you have someone who could benefit from this treatment, please reach out to Clinical Supervisor, Sarah Meyerowitz at our Antelope Valley location.
