Local family finds a new life and love in the arms of an adopted daughter. Commerce office foster parents of the year 2005, Ana and Martin Garcia from La Puente, California deserve congratulations for successfully adopting their daughter this past June. The Garcia's first came to know their daughter when they took her home from the Penny Lane Commerce office when she was just two days old. Now fifteen months later, what first began as a foster child has now turned into what the Garcia's always dreamed of, adding a new baby to their family. With 650,000 children in foster care in the United States and 20% calling California home, it is always a cause for celebration when one child can find a permanent loving and supportive home that will last a lifetime. Penny Lane has been faciliating adoptions through the foster care system since 2001. With 60% of foster parnets becoming adoptive parents, Penny Lane is an excellent alternative to private adotion agencies. Just this year Penny Lane's Commerce office has successfully finalized 6 adoptions and the North Hills office has placed 2 in adoptive homes. The Palmdale office has enjoyed the satisfaction of finalizing two adoptions since January and they have 12 adoptions almost ready to be finalized. What Penny Lane families receive when they choose to adopt is a highly skilled and compentent team of adoption specialists who will guide families through the legal process of adoptiing their
foster chidlren.
The process is well worth it when you arrive at the end of the journey and discover what family really means. To qualify to be a Penny Lane Fost Adopt Parent you can be married, single or living with your mate. You need to be at least 21 years old

Irma Zubia has been a foster parent for Penny Lane Foster Adoption Center for over one year. Since her she first began fostering she has had twelve kids under her care. Irma is no stranger to being a great mother having raised 7 children of her own she knows the amount of work and dedication as well as patience that is involved in raising healthy confident children. What sets Ms. Zubia apart besides foster children being greeted with a stable home filled with support and love is Ms. Zubia's unique and special willingness and passion to take the less than easy children that pass through our agency's doors. When other foster parents say, “no”, Irma always says “yes”. She is always the first to volunteer her home and heart. From our teens to our toddlers this woman has seen it all and she is determined to not give up on any of her children. She does not see the developmental delays, the bed wetting, the acting out, or the low grades as problems, she says that she sees the lack of love these children have received as the real underlying need. Under Irma's watchful eye and caring guidance Penny Lane has seen the most remarkable transformations in our children. Good grades, a healthy self-esteem and smiling faces are the ultimate reward for this Penny Lane office.
